Ways to Give
Thank you for considering a donation to the OpenSSL Foundation! Every gift makes a difference in strengthening the security of the internet.
- Make a US tax deductible donation
- The OpenSSL Foundation is a fiscally sponsored project of Software in the Public Interest (SPI), a 501c3 organization. To make a US tax deductible donation, use the OpenSSL Foundation donation form provided through SPI. Other tax deductible donation options include payment by check and Zelle. Learn more about these options on SPI’s Donations page. See our Donation FAQ for more information on what it means to be a fiscally sponsored project.
We provide many other ways to give, but only those gifts made through Software in the Public Interest qualify for a US tax receipt.
- Donate online
- You can donate directly to the OpenSSL Foundation by credit or debit card using our online donation form.
- Give cryptocurrency
- We accept a wide variety of cryptocurrencies through our cryptocurrency donation form. Cryptocurrencies are received by our gift processing partner and immediately converted to cash. The OpenSSL Foundation does not maintain its own cryptocurrency wallets.
- Donate through Github Sponsors
- Are you active on Github? If so, you can set up a one-time or monthly gift up to $12,000 USD using Github Sponsors.
- Send your gift via bank transfer
- A bank-to-bank transfer is the fastest way to send a donation with the lowest processing fees, allowing your donation to have the greatest impact. For bank transfers within the US, use our online donation form. For all other countries, contact donate@openssl.org for further instructions.
- Make an in-kind contribution
- We welcome gifts of products or services that directly support a budgeted business need. To begin a conversation about in-kind support, send a brief description of your proposed donation to donate@openssl.org.
- Give the ultimate gift, the gift of time
- As an open source software project, OpenSSL is powered by people like you! We invite you to contribute to our code, documentation, and decision-making process. Learn more about how to get involved.
- Still have questions?
- If you do not see your preferred giving option on this page, or have any other questions about making a gift, see our Donation FAQ or contact donate@openssl.org.
