Connect with us at FOSDEM

The OpenSSL Foundation will be attending FOSDEM in Brussels, Belgium on 1-2 February 2025, and we’d like to connect with you!

The Free and Open Source Developers’ European Meeting (FOSDEM) is a volunteer-organized event to promote the widespread use of free and open source software. The conference includes 1,001 events across two days, taking place in 40 rooms on the ULB Solbosch Campus. There is no fee to participate and attend.

We are fortunate that all OpenSSL Foundation staff will be in attendance at FOSDEM this year. They are:

  • Matt Caswell, President and Senior Software Engineer
  • Richard Levitte, Senior Software Engineer
  • Tomas Mraz, Public Support & Security Manager and Senior Software Engineer
  • Amy Parker, Chief Funding Officer
  • Jon Ericson, Communities Manager

If you are an OpenSSL user, donor, or other friend of the project who also will be at FOSDEM, we’d like to meet up with you! There are three opportunities to connect with us:

  • Come to the casual meet-up we are hosting on Monday, 3 February from 10am - 12pm. Stop by for as long or short of a visit as your schedule allows. We will meet in a central location, to be determined. Please register your interest in attending by writing to Amy Parker at amy.parker@openssl.org in order to reserve a place and to be informed of the event location.
  • Attend Amy Parker’s talk in the Funding the FOSS Ecosystem devroom on Sunday, 2 February at 12:30pm.
  • Contact foundation@openssl.org to set up a separate meeting with one or more members of the Foundation team at a time that’s convenient for you.

We look forward to this opportunity to learn and share knowledge with the open source community and hope to see you there.
